About the Opportunity

Join the founding team of a new AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Manager) in Luxembourg. Backed by seasoned professionals in the alternative investment space, this new platform will offer high-quality fund services to PE, RE, infrastructure, and other alternative asset managers.

As Partner Business Development, you will play a central role in developing the firm’s market presence, onboarding clients, and shaping the client-centric culture of the AIFM. You will work alongside the founding partner during the licensing and set-up phase, and may be appointed Conducting Officer, depending on your experience and ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts: identify, approach, and secure new clients in the alternative investment space (PE, RE, Infrastructure, etc.)
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with fund managers and investors
  • Design and implement the client onboarding journey with operational and compliance colleagues
  • Represent the AIFM in external meetings, industry events, and with regulators when appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless service delivery aligned with client needs
  • Contribute to the AIFM license application and regulatory engagements with the CSSF
  • Take on Conducting Officer responsibilities post-licensing, particularly related to marketing, client relations, and/or compliance, depending on your profile

Profile

  • 8–15 years’ experience in fund services, third-party ManCos or AIFMs, with strong exposure to alternative funds (PE, RE, infrastructure, private debt, etc.)
  • Proven commercial or relationship management experience, with a solid client network
  • Hands-on mindset, proactive and entrepreneurial spirit – able to build from a blank page
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape in Luxembourg (AIFMD)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in English; French or German is a plus
  • Eligible to act as Conducting Officer under CSSF criteria is a strong advantage

Why Joining

  • Build something from the ground up in a highly entrepreneurial environment
  • Direct exposure to top-tier clients and decision-makers
  • Become part of the founding team and shape the company’s long-term strategy
  • Potential for equity or long-term incentives for key early joiners
